The Lasso of Truth compels us to share with you that Scott Lee, former penciler at DC Comics and storyteller virtuoso, has joined Monolith Productions (WB Games) as Director of Art!

Scott started his career as a comic book artist at DC, and would go on to spend a decade honing his craft at several other studios. He first entered the games industry as a concept artist in the early 2000s, seamlessly porting his experience as a storyteller into the world of AAA titles. After shipping numerous projects from Activision, Rockstar, Ubisoft and Microsoft – including his legendary work on the Forza Motorsport franchise – he is now returning to his roots with Wonder Woman, a new third person, open-world action-adventure videogame featuring the iconic DC Super Hero.

“There was a sense that this was some sort of cosmic alignment that was calling me home,” he muses. “This was something I absolutely had to be a part of.”

In his new role, Scott will lead the overall artistic direction for the Monolith team and aims to create games that are beautiful, engaging and meaningful.

“What this means for art direction is truly embracing the games medium and all the advantages that come with it,” he explains. “We build fantastical, believable worlds in which players can be completely immersed. We build characters and tell their stories over many hours, giving players an opportunity to craft their own narrative and relationships. We build a player fantasy that transports you to amazing places to perform even more amazing feats.”

And he can’t wait to get to work with the team:

“Monolith is a studio that I’ve long admired and their games have influenced my work profoundly for many years,” he says. “I still have every comic book and toy I had as a kid in the ‘70s and ‘80s, and I discovered that some of my colleagues here share very similar interests. I can’t wait to see how everyone dresses up their workspace!”
