As a mom of two children who constantly keep her on her toes, quick pivots and adaptability are simply a part of the game for Director of Market Intelligence, Virginia Cao Janos. Based out of the Warner Bros. Games San Francisco office, Virginia keeps her finger on the pulse of the ever-changing mobile games industry, and revels in the opportunity to be a part of an amazing team that plans and executes game releases for some of the world’s most popular titles.

“I have fond memories of watching season 8 of ‘Game of Thrones’ with our entire Digital Publishing division,” she recalls. “Every Thursday, we’d gather in our biggest conference room and experience the latest episode together. It was a thrill scaling our mobile game (Game of Thrones: Conquest) alongside the show.”

As the lead of the Market Intelligence team, Virginia uses data on a macro and micro level to uncover insights and inform key business decisions. Armed with a background in Finance and Equity Research, she enjoys breaking down the games industry to understand underlying trends and how the landscape is changing. But above all, she appreciates the collaborative nature of her role:

“It feels really good to be part of such a talented team,” she says. “Not only is everyone skilled in their discipline, but they are also bright and look after one another. I feel like we are all rowing in the same direction.”

And as for how she balances being a mom and research extraordinaire, she simply quips: “There is no such thing as balance, it’s a crazy game of prioritization! But I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
